The Joy of Becoming
Wisdom From a Life Still Unfolding
Your story isn’t finshed yet.
Neither is mine.
The Book

There is a particular kind of tired that has nothing to do with sleep.
It is what Catherine refers to as “soul tired,” the kind of exhaustion that happens when you’ve been doing everything right and still find yourself wondering why life doesn’t look the way you thought it would. You’re capable, responsible, and faithful. You’ve held it together for everyone else for so long that you’ve quietly lost track of what you actually want. You suspect there is more to your story but have stopped letting yourself want it out loud.
Catherine Lundberg knows what that feels like firsthand. She has spent more than four decades having similar conversations, first behind the salon chair, where people share things they normally wouldn’t say anywhere else, and later in her coaching practice, where the conversations went deeper and the silences got more honest. She has listened to enough people tell the truth about their lives to know that the ones who seem the most put-together are often carrying the heaviest questions.
She has carried a few herself.
In The Joy of Becoming, Catherine explores what it means to keep growing when life doesn’t unfold according to plans, how to navigate betrayal and disappointment without losing yourself, and what grace looks like when life is asking more of you than you expected. Through stories of loss and reinvention, waiting and starting over, loving people whose choices you cannot control, and learning to hold the tension between wanting something different and being grateful for what is already real, she offers something rarer than advice. She offers understanding.
You will encounter a faith that can hold questions, uncertainty, and a willingness to trust. You will meet Chatter Girl, the inner narrator who will play worst-case scenarios on repeat if you let her. You will sit with the dormant season, when nothing appears to be moving and yet, underneath the surface, something is quietly taking shape. You will meet Kai. You will read about the red Adirondack chairs Catherine wanted and what she got instead.
This book is for anyone ready to take agency in the direction their life is heading and step more fully into the person they were created to be.
If you have ever felt the distance between the life you’re living and the one quietly calling to you, this book was written for that space.
This book is for anyone who knows there’s more to life—but isn’t quite sure what “more” looks like yet.
The Joy of Becoming invites you to:
✓ Recognize when the life you’ve built no longer feels fully aligned with who you’re becoming.
✓ Find your way back to yourself when you’ve spent years being everything everyone else needed you to be.
✓ Understand the seasons when it feels like nothing is happening—and discover how much growth can be taking place beneath the surface.
✓ Let go of the exhausting need to control what happens next and discover the freedom that comes with trusting yourself and your life.
✓ Navigate the ache of waiting when the relationship, opportunity, dream, or answer you desperately want seems to be taking far too long.
✓ Stop postponing your life for someday and learn to fully experience the life that is unfolding right now.
✓ Question the stories you’ve carried about yourself for years—the ones that quietly tell you who you are, what you’re capable of, and what’s possible for you—and decide whether they still belong to you.
